Christian Joy

“Although the fig tree shall not blossom,…yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” (Habakkuk 3:17-18)

Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. (Luke 10:20)

Many times people ask why are you happy and what is your response? For some it could be due to good exam results, for other it could be some joyous events. I think for us Christians we have a very good reason to rejoice and be joyful wherever we are. Even in down time, yes we may feel sad when a love one passed away, or perhaps flustered when we are stressed, or even angry when things are not going our way.

However the bible reminds me to rejoice and do not be sad. We should be having a joyful countenance so that we may tell others why we are happy, because our names are wtitten in heaven and this world is not our home.

People may say I am crazy, but I’d say I’d rather be crazy and be at right with God, than someone who is sane and on the wrong side with God.
