Paul and his partner split
Paul and his partner split.
It’s been sometime I penned my thoughts, and it’s ironical that it ended as being rather negatively IMO, but the devil is constantly working against us for the extension of the gospel and the work among believers. I continue to trust God and turn to him for guidance and comfort. I am very thankful that my God does not call me to stop depending on him and go look for your own options.
Today, after the end of a my 1st mission trip to Medan, I was told (implicitly implied), “Why are you and your team following us? You should do your own mission and stop following us. you guys are slack and full of excuses of not doing your own Mission Trip executions. In the past, sharing the gospel and travelling from town to town being led by Eng Siang was what we did” with a tinge of pride and selfish when mentioned about speaking the full mind and please do not mind.
I’m not sure if the person who shared this in close door public with full attention from everyone realize what was said is very hurting and discouraging, and to me shows a sign of an unbridled tongue.
James 1:26 – Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.
In a parallelism view – this is like the Parent telling their child, stop depending on me and do it yourself.
You know what? I think while the harsh truth is there, from henceforth we will be going our seperate ways and we will conduct our own mission trip ourselves by God’s grace and his leading.
At times, this is inevitable and could very well be the work of God to expand his work. Even Paul and Barnabas splitted as recorded for us in Acts. This is when a division becomes multiplication which is recorded for us in Acts 15:3-16:10.
Acts 15
39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;
40 And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.
Nonetheless – we closed by praising God through the singing of Doxology led by Sonny, God is good. Pucih Tuhan!
