Corporate Prayer

I asked the LORD, how can I be more fervent in corporate prayer? One can be very diligent in personal private prayers, but not participating in corporate prayer. Thank God for his answer today immediately:

When one is out there committing prayer corporately as a church, one is extremely humbled and filled with humility. One is literally brought down to his knees if possible, before the awesome heavenly Father and his presence.

Common Bond
A common bond holding us to the LORD. As we listen and commit each other prayer request to God, we rejoice, and grieve together. We commit each other to God, especially persona; prayer items. Through partner prayer, I’ve got to know of Lim Pin’s mum being outside of Salvation, and today Bernard’s dad 77 Bagtha. In reporting for “duty” today, God has open my eyes to the need of corporate prayer. After today’s prayerful experience, it is not just coming to pray, but literally labour for each other in prayer in Christ.

Will of God
We always wonder what is the will of God for us, coming to corporate prayer is living in the will of God. 1 Thes 5:16-18 16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Today’s exhortation on the same topic was exhorted from Elder Khoo.

Building Relationship
Overtime we find and build our praying partners and I have found mine where we can pray comfortably with each other committing prayer items to our almight Heavenly Father.

Gym Time
Just as people goes to the gym for a good physical workout, corporate prayer is a good spiritual workout as we labour and sweat commiting, dedicating and casting our cares on Jesus.

I’m sure there are more, but these 4 is a good start, and I look forward to more gym time with God. Is never easy when we come for corporate prayer, for many for us, behind the facade of the cheerful greetings and smiles is a spiritual struggle we have prior to the prayer session. Many of us have overcome the temptation of replacing the PM with other activities which are equally legitimate, perhaps perceived as IMPORTANT even, however during that PM Time slot. We need to flee, and run towards God for this Sweet Hour of Prayer.
Thank God for his goodness and grace, I’ve never felt unrewarded after a prayer session, always Spiritually lifted. I need to right this down to remind myself. Ebenezer.

In Christ, BS.
