Mediator

Hebrews 7:25 (KJV)
[25] Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

in·ter·ces·sion
1. an act or instance of interceding.
2. an interposing or pleading on behalf of another person.
3. a prayer to God on behalf of another.

in·ter·cede
1. to act or interpose in behalf of someone in difficulty or trouble, as by pleading or petition: to intercede with the governor for a condemned man.
2. to attempt to reconcile differences between two people or groups; mediate.

The two descriptions here that best fit Jesus will be the following: – an interposing or pleading on behalf of another person.
– a prayer to God on behalf of another.
– to attempt to reconcile differences between two people or groups; mediate.

So we see Jesus is still mediating and reconciling us to God daily due to our sins committed daily. We are saved because Jesus has taken away our sins, and through the eyes of our awesome God, he sees us through the purity of Jesus. Without Jesus mediating for us, we would have been burned up on hi wrath.

Look for the YouTube video “Sinners in the hands of an angry God”.

However, just because we keep committing sin, and unable to stop, should not be a reason to keep sinning.
We should make every effort to live a live that please and glorify God. 2 Peter 1:10 reminds us to “give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: ”

Giving diligence will be our first indicator, such as how much time do we spend in godly things like reading, praying, thinking, conversing, sharing, etc.

The Hymn writer sums it up nicely in Take Time to Be Holy by William D. Longstaff

Take time to be holy, speak oft with thy Lord;
Abide in Him always, and feed on His Word.
Make friends of God’s children, help those who are weak,
Forgetting in nothing His blessing to seek.

Take time to be holy, the world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret, with Jesus alone.
By looking to Jesus, like Him thou shalt be;
Thy friends in thy conduct His likeness shall see.

Take time to be holy, let Him be thy Guide;
And run not before Him, whatever betide.
In joy or in sorrow, still follow the Lord,
And, looking to Jesus, still trust in His Word.

Take time to be holy, be calm in thy soul,
Each thought and each motive beneath His control.
Thus led by His Spirit to fountains of love,
Thou soon shalt be fitted for service above.
