Avoiding Sin?

Another approach to avoiding sin. This method occured to me when I was reading the bible with my son last night. Noticed how people are avoiding their once favoured dish sharkfin when they are being presented with the reality of real sharks being finned and left for dead? Diners stopped ordering sharkfin soup knowing someone else is a victim. How about people who have avoided fur products due to awareness of real animals being killed to fulfill their desire to have a nice fur coat? People who have avoided beef because the cow had to be killed for the meat? Some who have avoided meat altogether because they felt the poor animals had to be killed for food? While some of the examples above are not biblical, these are our daily lives observations isn’t it?

Matthew 5:32 “That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.”
Notice the flow of implication? Wife Innocent -> Put Away -> Wife thereafter needs to remain single else commits adultery & Anyone who marries her commits adultery.
So in otherwords, best, do not get divorce!

Another scenario. Folks who are involved in pornography. Does it occur to you that someone else had to sin, get down and dirty to satisfy your lust? Perhaps even exploited? Bullied? Ill treated? Seperated from their love ones? Deprived? What else you can think of?

How about this… everytime we sin, it is as good as putting Christ on the cross again and again figuratively? Of course Christ died once and for all. How’s our private vs public life? Is it as presentable?

Think of the negative impact to others, that will surely help us to think twice.. thrice.

Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin.

    Oh! Wonderful love!
So deep you can’t get under it, (thrice)
