Own Mind

I’d like to keep short meditations of God’s word daily. Every event of the day to bring about a verse in the bible for reflection and meditation. I’d like to keep it to KISS.. Keep It Short and Simple. Let’s see how it goes. Blessed New Year to all! May we continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Romans 14:5 KJV
One man esteemeth one day above another : another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

Each of us have different importance. To some, it is important to be spick and span tidiness. To another, a little mess is alright, as long as it is convenient and accessible. We had a beginning of year meet up with some folks, and I can sense some tension and unhappiness. To some, it is important to perform local mission work, while to others, overseas mission work. To some it is important to study the bible everyday, all day round. While to some, it is sufficient to have a constant regular study.

Which brings me to mind the above verse from Paul, which read in context is about judging one another. Judging can easily result in condemning. Thus the importance of Romans 14:5b, “Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.”. If you think tidyness is important, do it, however in your own mind. If you think convenience is utmost importance? Do it, in your own mind. What does it mean to be on his own mind? Which means in your own personal private space without imposing on others. Can anybody impose within your own mind? Can’t, as it’s personal within your own head. Sometimes, we have to either agree to agree, or agree to disagree.

Amos 3:3 noted “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”

May we be fully persuaded in own mind. Whatsoever we do, we do it for the glory of God. So whether we “esteemeth one day above another : another esteemeth every day alike”… “Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.”

1 Cor 10:31
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
