Forgiveness

+++++ FORGIVENESS +++++
“When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. ” (Mark 2:5).

“And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.” (Luke 7:48-50).

What gives Jesus the authority to forgive? Why did he forgive when these people have done him no wrong? Won’t you feel odd when you visit a doctor, and the doc say you are forgiven, ask u pay for medicines, and go your way? What did I do that requires the doc forgiveness? I paid him! So why did Jesus say ‘thy sins be forgiven thee.’?

Because we have all sinned against God, and Jesus himself is God. Thru Isaiah, God spoke “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” (Isaiah 43:25).

Yes. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23). “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” (Isaiah 64:6).

Yup. Does that means we should stop being righteous? No. It just mean however righteous we are, we don’t meauure up to His standards. That’s why God sent his Son Jesus to be the way.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. ” (John 14:6).

Do we have a relationship with Jesus? If we say Yes, and have no opposite relationship with sin, we decieve ourselves. Just as when we say we love children, then we’ll hate abortions. If we love children, we’ll hate children abusers. If we love Jesus, we’d hate sin.
