We have all in one way or another heard about the story of Jonah. Oh Yes, and Jonah is a book in the bible too.

In a nutshell, God told Jonah to go to Nineveh to tell of God’s judgement.

Of course from God told and till Jonah told, much events occurred in between. Jonah ran away, disobedience, dislike for Nineveh people, boat ride, and the famous in a whale belly, etc. Every time we read or consider God’s word, a fresh perspective appears. No, I’m not talking about new doctrine, but rather personally, a new insight appears.

It’s interesting how God sent Jonah to tell the word. It reminds me of the narrative between the rich man and Joseph the beggar who died in the gospel account.

Luke 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

However, we read in Jonah how God through him, brought salvation to the citizens of Nineveh.

Can a person be saved, and aware, of God’s judgement and salvation unless one hear about it? OR Read about it? How can one hear unless someone told?

Who is willing to tell?

Christ, let it be me I pray.
