Run to Jesus

When I saw in the book that says beer is bad for health, I immediately threw the book away.
L O L!! Funny ain’t it? Let’s see who has the last laugh. It’s the ugly truth for many of us. Even for us Christian who claims to walk with our Lord Jesus, and worship the Lord Jehovah. It’s the truth for me too in fact, before.

How often have we shut away people who highlights to us our shortcoming and sins? How often we stop reading the bible when God’s word reviews how wretched and sinful we were? How often have we shut away the Holy Spirit when he prompts us on our sins, and how much we need Jesus as our Saviour? Very often.

James 4:8 “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

Luke 19:3 “.. except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
Acts 3:19 “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out..”
Acts 2:38 “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall
receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

Interesting here, what is baptism?
In the New Testament, the significance of baptism is seen more clearly.
It’s a commandment from God, and a symbol of seperation unto Jesus Christ.
If you need a earthly likeness, it is liken to the marriage where the couple go through an officiated process to declare their love, committment, etc to each other in public.
Romans 6:3 “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore
we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Acts 3:21 “even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:”
Acts 2:38

Oops, I think I have gone off topic in my reading, back to coming back to God.
It’s so easy for us to turn away from God isn’t it even sometimes unknowingly!

Come back to Jesus, the greater the temptation, the faster you should run to Jesus.
Flee. Run into Jesus. Dive into Jesus bosom. He will be willing and just to forgive when you turn away from sin.
This is recorded for us all over the bible.

Matt 9:6  “But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins..”
Mark 2:10 “But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins.. ”
Luke 5:24 “But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins..”

In three of the gospels, the exact same statement of Jesus being able to forgive!
Only Jesus, nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Thank You Jesus for dying on the cross for my sins.
