Science Center through the lens of Panasonic FX7

We got a family membership at Science Center for 2009. All I can say, it was value for money judging from the number of times we have been there to date, and the unlimited Omni Theater show.  Samuel was very excited when we told him we are going to the Science Center the day before. There are many good exhibits and activities. The favourite spot I guess for most children will be the water world, which is not seen here. Since my pathetic Panasonic DMC-FX7 batt died 50% through the trip. The battery is my major complain, the brand new battery which I am using, died within like 1h of use. 1h as in almost non-stop snapping. No Flash, No Beeps, Power Saving mode.

Anyway, I like using this Compact Cam, for the simple reason that it is COMPACT! It allows me to position the cam in all the wierd angles, and shoot. Oh yes, pocketable too.

Eco Garden

Science Center fascinates me too. Every visit, it appears that there is something new, or something which we have no visited. It is H U G E! Today, we discovered this Eco Garden, which is not within the insides of the building of cause, but outside. We spend about some good 45 mins at the Eco Garde, where there are

  1. Treetop house
  2. Plants
  3. Ponds
  4. Iguana too!

As usual, Samuel wasted no time, in fact, he had visited so many times, he knew the exhibits pretty well. He brought me straight to the area with chicks! Along the way, he was distracted by other exihibits. Mathematics world I think.

Past Present Pix of Science Center here.

Here are the pics through the lens of my old Compact Lazy Horse. Panasonic DMC-FX7

Above exhibit is about moving a vehicle on the board. A screen on the floor actually shows how fast the car is travelling base on how fast you move the car. Pretty interesting. Samuel likes this.

This section is all about animals innards. Above is a stuffed bird. I believe it was a real bird.

All the inner organs. Left to Right:

The Iguana. Up close. Pretty lonely. It is alone in the cage, and under a shed.

Spikey!

Why is this called the MIL plant? Gotta google.

The pond. Reminds me of my old planted fish tank. I had some of these floating around. Problem with these plants in an aquarium is, they introduce algaes.

The treehouse at the Ecogarden. Last pix for the Panasonic DMC-FX7. Charge more than 2h, dead in less than an hr. Not good returns if you ask me. Next up, I brought out my Nikon D80 mounted with the 50mm lens.

I would prefer a wide angle lens here, but this is all I’ve got. I’ll use it. 🙂
