2009 SH HK Trip through the eyes of Canon Powershot A570

Simply beautiful if you ask me. I’m not a photographer, so everything looks good to me. Now is that not a beautiful thing to be? lol!

This cam was held by my wife and Samuel. I presume some of the photos are shot by Samuel too.

The entire set of the photos can be found here.

I love accessing a web page that is a page full of photos, saves me the hassles of clicking through one by one. All I have to do is just scroll through the entire page to see the entire contents. No CLICKS!

Shanghai Train Museum

This is at the Shanghai Train Museum. Samuel is totally excited!

Shanghai Train Museum

Another Real Train Exhibit. These are located outdoors of course. Gosh, they are HUGE!

Shanghai Train Museum

Samuel on a rather vintage looking “train”?

Shanghai Pearl of Orient Tower

This is taken when we had lunch and an outing with Amy’s friend Maurice. He brought us to have a walk along the opposite of Shanghai Bund since the original Bund is closed for renovation for 2010 expo.

Shanghai Museum

Shanghai Museum. Google for it. Huge building of artistic and whatever artifacts.

Shanghai Airport waiting to go Hong Kong

Samuel favorite Handheld throughout the trip. Nintendo DS.

Shanghai Airport waiting to go Hong Kong

Samuel and his favorite stroller. Indeed, we could not have survived without it.

Shanghai Airport waiting to go Hong Kong

ME!

Shanghai Airport waiting to go Hong Kong

The latest way to play a Nintendo DS. Sure way to get the highs.

Hong Kong Star Walk

Taken in Hong Kong along the streets of Star Walk. Similar to the Hollywood whatever Walk of Fame.

Hong Kong Star Walk

Mel and Isaac. Isaac throughout the trip had to hold onto something. A passion. A holding passion.

Hong Kong Star Walk

Quick Shot between myself and Samuel! :)

Hong Kong Starferry Terminal Nearby

Amy said that clock tower is an historical artifact. I’m a tourist. Whatever you say, I tend to believe. So take a photo!

Hong Kong Disneyland

On the train to Disneyland. Getting there is easy. We took a cab to Kowloon station and took a train straight down to Sunnybay, did an change and straight to Disney.

Hong Kong Disneyland

Mel and the 2 boys outside Disney. Just heading in. Thank God for the weather. It was raining the day before, and the morning was extremely gloomy.

Hong Kong Disneyland

Closer look.

Hong Kong Disneyland

US!

Hong Kong Disneyland

Some flying UFOs. Lasted for only 1 minute the ride.

Hong Kong Disneyland

This is fun. The car. Highly recommended to go for the ride. It’s more than a minute and is up to your speed to last the whole ride. I chose to go slow so I can rest my tired legs.

Hong Kong Disneyland

Buzz Lightyear! Samuel is crazy over him, and he does not even like the toystory movie!

Hong Kong Disneyland

Cups. Spinning Cups. Samuel loved it so much that he went for more than 6 rounds.

Hong Kong Disneyland

Isaac had to enjoy the stationary cup. :P

Hong Kong Disneyland

Still sober before the ride. Diiiiizzy.

Hong Kong Disneyland

Isaac can do anything on this cup.

Hong Kong Disneyland

This one should be the Fantasy Land. There is a boat ride that goes through an exhibits of “Small Small World” sung in International Language. We went two rounds.

Hong Kong Disneyland

Similar to the flying UFO. Just that this is DUMBo.

Hong Kong Disneyland

Horse Rides, fake. Up and downs. 1 minute as usual.

Hong Kong Disneyland

I had to be beside Samuel. It’s the rules. Kicked my shin here.

Hong Kong Disneyland

CUPS AGAIN!!

Hong Kong Disneyland

I’m not sure if this was the beginning or the end. Is that great! No beginning or the end.

2009-Oct-05-13-SH-HK Trip Summary

All Praise and Glory to God for the journey mercies, good weather, safety, and taking care of us throughout the trip. My wife fell seriously ill on arriving at HK. Looks like she ate something bad. Terrible tummy ache, diarrhea, fever and all. Nontheless, thank God it’s not cough, cold, throat infection, etc. Those tends to be airborne and would have been more contagious. She sprained her back too. Otherwise everyone else are good and well.

I snapped 1346 pictures, 4.75GB, all taken with Lumix LX3. Did not want to lug my Nikon D80 and the 18-200mm lens with the big SB-600 flash for the whole day. Carrying the DSLR full day will surely guarantee myself a back or somewhere ache.

9 day trip. 4 day in Shanghai, 5 day in HK. Mon Oct 5 to Tue Oct 13.
Actually, I will subtract 3 days from the 9 as those are the flight days.
Ie
Oct 05 1st Day is flight from SG to HK to CN
Oct 08 4th Day is flight from CN to HK
Oct 13 Last day flight from HK to SG

A total of 5 adults and 2 kids. My in-laws, wifey, myself and Mel, our good
helper. Mel played a very crucial role in taking care of our youngest Isaac
throughout the trip. Tiring no doubt, but she certainly treated Isaac as her
own son like.
Alore.

No special itenary. Objective of the trip was to visit relatives, friends in
Shanghai and HK. We had been traveling regularly to HK, but this is our 1st
Family Trip to Shanghai.
